I grew up in a political family in Chicago’s north side. I do not mean “political” in the sense of people arguing at the dinner table about politics, but as in my father was an actual politician, a State Senator, a Democratic Committeeman, and a prominent figure in the Jewish Community.

Today, the news cycle makes me want to scream. The constant bombardment of not just political posturing but true harm being caused to humans across the globe is overwhelming. This type of overwhelm leads to apathy and believe me I have felt apathy.
